SteamVR Support

VertoXR provides OpenVR/SteamVR driver support, allowing you to use your AR glasses for head tracking in SteamVR-compatible games and applications.

Overview

The VertoXR SteamVR driver enables 3DOF (three degrees of freedom) head tracking by translating your glasses' orientation into SteamVR's tracking system. This allows you to experience VR content using your AR glasses instead of traditional VR headsets.

Prerequisites

Before setting up SteamVR with VertoXR, ensure you have:

  • SteamVR installed and updated
  • VertoXR application installed and your glasses connected
  • A compatible AR glasses device
  • Windows operating system (driver support for other platforms coming soon)

Alternative Solution: VRto3D + OpenTrack

If you need SteamVR support before the official driver is available, you can use an alternative setup:

Using VRto3D

VRto3D is a community-developed solution that can work with VertoXR:

  1. Download and install VRto3D
  2. Configure VRto3D to use OpenTrack as the input source
  3. In VertoXR, enable OpenTrack mode from Game Mode
  4. Configure the connection between VertoXR and VRto3D
  5. Launch SteamVR
Compatibility

VRto3D is a third-party solution and may have different performance characteristics or compatibility issues compared to the official driver. Use it as a temporary solution until the official driver is released.
